Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) – Lexington School Districts Three and Four have decided they will close on Thursday. This follows a similar announcement by both District One and District Two who both are closing. In an e-mailed release, both districts Three and Four said that all schools and offices will be closed, and all before and after school activities have been cancelled.
Both district’s officials continue to monitor Hurricane Dorian and the potential impact of this storm. They have consulted throughout the day with members of Lexington County Emergency Management, the National Weather Service, state and county agencies, and county school districts to review the storm’s path and make decisions regarding school and county operations. This storm is expected to produce wind gusts in excess of 30 MPH, which can impact the safe operation of vehicles in our area, including school buses.
