South Congaree police hoping to find vehicle “let in” suspects
South Congaree, SC (Paul Kirby) – The South Congaree Police Department is looking for several suspect for questioning after several vehicle “let ins” occurred early Thursday morning. Vehicle “let ins” are instances where thieves canvas an area checking car doors. When they find a vehicle unlocked, they let themselves in and steal what they want. Sometimes they even steal vehicles.
Police say that around 4:00 a.m. Thursday, two black males driving a stolen Toyota Highlander out of Richland County came into town and stopped in the Blue Ridge Terrace neighborhood. They went through different vehicles taking various items from the unlocked cars. They also stole a vehicle during this incident.
Richland County has since located the stolen Toyota Highlander used by the suspects. South Congaree is still investigation, but they have already located the stolen truck. They have a picture of one of the suspects they’d like everyone to look at.
If anyone has any information or surveillance videos from that area, please contact Investigator Washington through South Congaree’s dispatch at (803) 785-2521 or by email at dwashington@southcongaree.org.
