Irmo, SC (Paul Kirby) – Law enforcement officers are in the early stages of what is currently being described as an armed robbery investigation. They were alerted regarding the incident that occurred in the 200 block of Valcour Road near Irmo around 2:00 p.m. Friday. Valcour Road is between St. Andrews and Piney Grove Roads not far from where the two main thoroughfares intersect.
The first arriving officers were told that the suspect presented a firearm, threatened the victim, and then stole a vehicle and a trailer. Witnesses say the suspect fled the scene and was last seen turning onto Piney Grove Road. Other area agencies have been asked to be on the lookout for the vehicle and suspect.
The investigation is in its infancy. Investigators are just arriving on scene and are trying to sort out the situation. As they learn more, they may release additional information.
