"Cops on the Coop” with Chick-Fil-A to benefit Special Olympics
Lexington, SC – The Lexington Police Department continues their 2019 fundraising efforts to benefit Special Olympics athletics with two days of “Cops on the Coop” events at Chick-fil-A Lexington and Chick-fil-A Saluda Pointe on Thursday, September 12 and Friday, September 13, 2019.
Lexington Police Department officers, with help from Volunteers in Police Services (V.I.P.S.) members, will be at Chick-fil-A Lexington, which is located at 5560 Sunset Blvd., and Chick-fil-A Saluda Pointe, which is located at 4295 Sunset Blvd., from 6:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. each day of the fundraising.
Officers and V.I.P.S. will be collecting donations of cash, check or credit card at the restaurant front door area and in the drive thru lanes as well. Chick-fil-A will be giving away complimentary treat or sandwich cards to use at a later visit for those who make a donation and there will be Special Olympics apparel for purchase.
All money donated will benefit the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics to directly support the over 29,000 Special Olympics athletes in South Carolina.
Chief Terrence Green said, “The Lexington Police Department has had a longstanding relationship with Special Olympics South Carolina and the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics and these events with our local Chick-fil-A stores are always a success. Thanks in advance to everyone who makes “Cops on the Coop” part of their day this week as you are helping us make a difference for Special Olympics athletes.”
