West Columbia churches holding Oktoberfest celebration

West Columbia, SC (Paul Kirby) - Mt Tabor Lutheran Church and Faith Lutheran Church are teaming up on Saturday, September 21 to have an old fashioned German celebration. Their Oktoberfest will be held from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. at 728 Meeting Street that day.

Oktoberfest was originally a celebration of the marriage of the crown prince of Bavaria. Since that time, it’s turned into a celebration of prosperity, a successful harvest, and is a great excuse to enjoy yourself with others. While at the Oktoberfest in West Columbia you’ll have an opportunity to sample authentic German food from the Wurst Wagen. You can also eat hot dogs, drink beer, enjoy music, and have fun as everyone celebrates with his neighbors.

Free parking is available at 626 Meeting St. All funds raised will be donated to the Lutheran Services Carolinas Love One Another Campaign.
