St. Andrews, SC (Paul Kirby) – A man wanted in Richland County eventually surrendered to Lexington County deputies after being hold up in a motel room at the Red Roof Inn near St. Andrews Friday afternoon. Deputies attempted to reach the man without much success after they first tried to take him into custody.

Very little details have been provided by the sheriff’s department because of the sensitive negotiation that was ongoing Friday afternoon prior to the man's surrender. Eventually, deputies were able to talk the fugitive into giving up and walking out without further incident.

A spokesman for the sheriff’s department said later Friday that the Richland County Sheriff’s Department will be providing more information on the individual and related charges later.
