Batesburg-Leesville schools closing due to water main break

Batesburg-Leesville, SC - Due to a water main break on Summerland Avenue, water has been shut off for the remainder of the day at B-L Primary and B-L High Schools. Due to the intricate nature of Lexington Three’s transportation routes, district administrators feel it is necessary to release students early from not only these two affected schools, but all of the district’s campuses.

Therefore, Lexington Three will follow the following early release schedule today, which is Tuesday, September 24th.

B-L Primary School and B-L High School will dismiss at 1:30 pm.

B-L Elementary School and B-L Middle School will dismiss at 1:45 pm.

The district's administration said Tuesday that they understand that this is an unexpected inconvenience and Lexington Three they would like to assure all parents that staff will remain at the schools until all of our students have been safely transported home. As always, safety is their top priority in Lexington Three. Children who ride buses who may not have a parent or guardian at home this early will be brought back to B-L Elementary School for pickup. (Parents of these children will be notified.)

Please note that all afterschool activities at all four of Lexington Three’s schools have been cancelled for today.

All home athletic events that were scheduled to take place at one of Lexington Three’s schools are also cancelled. Athletic events that were scheduled to take place in another school district will proceed forward as planned.

Anyone with questions regarding this situation can contact the Lexington Three District Office at 803-532-4423.
