Chapin, SC (Paul Kirby) – The Chapin community is about to get an opportunity to enjoy another craft beer venue that should be a great addition to its already busy food and drink scene. The Lazy Creek Taproom is in development right now.
Before the construction of V.C. Summer units 2 & 3 came to a halt, Chapin had a successful craft beer outlet on Old Lexington Highway. When the construction stopped, the customers did too and that eventually spelled doom for the great little hangout that was doing a booming business at one point. Apparently, two close friends, Dillon and Connor, felt the market had adjusted itself and decided they would take the plunge and open a craft beer focused venue in Chapin again. According to columbiafoodienews.com, the pair have developed a concept for the Lazy Creek Taphouse and plans are to have something open by the end of October, 2109.
Lazy Creek will open 306 St. Peters Church Road. This is the building that was previously home to Freedom Farm Hay & Seed. Once the build out is complete, Lazy Creek will feature between 12 and 16 taps and some craft beers that are packaged. They will also have ciders and wines. There small on-site store will allow customers to purchase 6-packs of craft beer and bottles of wine.
The building has a large front porch will be a great place to relax with a craft beer in hand. Tables and comfortable chairs are being added and there will be a large screen for football games and other sporting events. There’s also a side yard that will have picnic tables and an area for outside games like cornhole and horseshoes. Dogs will be welcome in the outside area as long as they are well socialized and on a leash.
Instead of relying on an on-site kitchen, the proprietors of Lazy Creek plan to turn to the latest concept for feeding crowds at bars and other areas where people gather. They plan to have a rotation of food trucks to so patrons can enjoy different foods regularly.
