Lexington County Sheriff’s Department investigating stabbing near Gilbert

Gilbert, SC (Paul Kirby) – A man and woman have been transported to the hospital after a stabbing occurred on Broad Street near Gilbert Tuesday. The incident occurred mid-day and deputies, EMTs, and firefighters responded to the incident.

Deputies haven’t said what was going on when the stabbing occurred. First responders were on the scene quickly but had to stand by some distance away until law enforcement arrived and secured the scene. The sheriff’s department has not released any more information as they are in the very early stages of this investigation.
