Red Bank, SC (Paul Kirby) – An accident involving a moped took the life of the rider and snarled traffic Wednesday morning. The accident happened at Bill Williamson Court and Old Orangeburg Road in front of Saxe Gotha Elementary School. No children were involved in this accident.
The collision occurred right at 7:00 a.m. The road was closed for a time and as commuter traffic increased, law enforcement and other first responders had to deal with the influx of vehicles while preserving the accident scene. Currently, investigators with the SC Highway Patrol are there looking into the cause of the accident. We will release more information as soon as it becomes available.
