Swansea student suspended after making threats

Swansea, SC (Paul Kirby) - This week, a Swansea High School student made threatening comments to students on a Lexington District Four school bus. A student reported the incident to their parents who immediately contacted the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department. District administration assisted deputies in investigating and confirming the threat. According to the school, the student was immediately suspended from school pending a district hearing. The incident was turned over to the school resource officer as part of the district’s continued cooperation with law enforcement.

Lexington District Four said they are committed to the safety of every student and their staff. Students are encouraged to always immediately report safety concerns to an administrator, teacher, or other school staff. They said students and families are valuable stakeholders in maintaining a safe learning community.
