Lexington man arrested on child pornography charges

Lexington, SC (Diana Nation) – South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the arrest of Mark David Swierski, 50, of Lexington, SC, on six charges connected to the sexual exploitation of a minor. The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigators with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Office made the arrest. Assisting with the investigation were investigators with the Attorney General’s Office, and a member of the state’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Investigators received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children which led them to Swierski. Investigators said Swierski distributed and possessed files on his computer of child pornography.

Swierski was arrested on October 10, 2019. He is charged with one, second-degree felony count of sexual exploitation of a minor, and five, third-degree counts of sexual exploitation of a minor offense. Each of these six felony counts are punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson’s office will handle the prosecution of this case.
