LEXINGTON, S.C. – A Pelion Middle School student is charged with having a weapon on school grounds and making direct threats against one of his teachers.

The student, whose name will not be released because he's under age 18, made a statement about killing the teacher Thursday, the same day he had a knife at school.

The student was released to the custody of his parents after being charged. He will appear in Lexington County Family Court at a later date.
