Cayce Department of Public Safety raises more than $3,000 during two-day event for SC Special Olympi

Cayce, SC (Paul Kirby) – The Cayce Department of Public Safety recently participated in Cops & Lobsters to raise money for the SC Law Enforcement Officers' Special Olympics Torch Run. They have participated for years in the event that puts police officers in the local Red Lobster for two days acting as the wait staff. During the fundraisers, tips that are given to the officers for their hard work are then donated to the Special Olympics.

According to the department, this year they raised $3,296.21 for the cause. These funds, along with money raised by other departments during this and other events throughout the year, goes to help send athletes to Olympic style sporting events. It helps to support the program for special needs children and youths across the state.

The department said via social media they wanted to thank everyone who stopped in and donated. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of their community and Red Lobster on Knox Abbott Drive. Thanks Cayce!

We can’t wait to see everyone again next year!
