Swansea, SC (Paul Kirby) – Law enforcement officials are on the scene of a construction accident off SC Hwy. 6 near Sutton Hall Road close to Swansea. The call regarding the accident was dispatched to deputies, EMTs, and firefighters just before 10:00 a.m. Thursday.
Very few details are available at this point. Responders have said that a person was hit by a piece of construction equipment. Callers said the victim was not entangled or entrapped in the bulldozer; however, the actual condition of that person hasn’t been released.
Most fire units were told they could return to their quarters before arriving on the scene. Crews from Lexington County EMS were still there along with sheriff’s deputies after 10:20 a.m. Thursday.
