Calhoun County, SC (Paul Kirby) – CRIMESTOPPERS of South Carolina has taken an extra step to try and identify a truck used in the theft of some construction equipment. They want the citizens of Lexington County, and all areas of South Carolina, to be on the lookout for the tractor trailer that was used to steal the expensive equipment in Calhoun County.
According to the crime tip organization, they are hoping that someone may know who stole a front-end loader. The Caterpillar 930 was taken on October 9th of this year at approximately 8:30 a.m. The front-end loader was stolen from the Access Road area near Gaston. This is located alongside I-26 in Calhoun County close to the Lexington County line. The thieves also took the rack, bucket, boom and forks for the tractor. The truck was caught on camera from another business.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department is looking for information on the tractor trailer used to steal the equipment. It appears to be a late model day cab with a single chrome exhaust stack. It’s pulling a drop deck, low-boy style trailer.
