Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) – Lexington Patrolman First Class Larry Holiday of the department’s Community Action Team (C.A.T.) was presented an award during the Lexington area’s NAACP banquet Saturday night. He received their Community Service Award.
As a part of the C.A.T. Team, Holiday has been instrumental in building a bridge of cooperation between the police and the citizens of the community. According to the Police Department’s website at www.lexsc.com, “The Community Action Team (CAT) is the unit primarily responsible for community oriented policing. CAT officers receive special training in community relations, crime prevention, and gang trends. Working with the patrol and criminal investigations divisions, CAT officers ensure that community input is part of the action plans patrol officers and detectives work under.”
Thanks to officers like Larry Holiday, Lexington is a safer town and a better place for us all.
