West Columbia man charged with having contraband at SC prison
Columbia, SC – The S.C. Department of Corrections Police Services released the arrest warrants today for Jack Michael Kibler, a visitor to Goodman Correctional Institution Saturday.
Kibler, 60, of West Columbia, is charged with possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, introducing contraband into a prison and criminal conspiracy.
Kibler is charged with hiding 12 grams of loose tobacco wrapped in black electrical tape in his medical boot and bringing it into the Columbia prison. The contraband was found during a shakedown at the institution, and officers found evidence of conspiracy with an inmate through telephone calls. Afterwards, Kibler consented to a search of his vehicle, and a canine officer found marijuana and methamphetamines.
The S.C. Department of Corrections reminds members of the public that after an arrest, the burden of proof is on the state to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt within a court of law.
