Coroner Fisher says Lexington woman, 66, died in a vehicle collision Thursday

Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) – Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher said overnight that a 66 year-old woman from Lexington died after being involved in a vehicle collision mid-day Thursday. Fisher said the collision occurred at the intersection of Fox Branch, Smith Pond and Rawl Roads near the Roundhill community and Lexington on Thursday, November 21, 2019.

According to Coroner Fisher, Donna L. Lesperance, 66, of Lexington was pronounced dead at the scene due to her injuries. Lesperance had been traveling on Fox Branch Road and was crossing Smith Pond Road onto Rawl Road when another vehicle struck the side of her vehicle. Fisher’s team said she was wearing a seat belt when the collision occurred. The driver and passenger of the other vehicle were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
