Cayce, SC (Paul Kirby) – As people are out for a “Shop till You Drop” Black Friday, they can also help the Cayce Department of Public Safety prepare for their annual Shop With A Cop. If you’ve been blessed this year, perhaps you could talk with your children and loved ones about knocking an item off their lists to share with the less fortunate.
Every year, Walmart opens their doors to children in the community for a morning of holiday gift shopping and fun. Shop with a Cop provides a fun filled day for a number of children in need throughout Cayce. It also helps by creating positive relationships with law enforcement. The participating children are identified by schools, youth organizations, and social services agencies.
The entire event is funded with donations. Most of that comes from the public and businesses. If you would like to help, a tax-deductible donation can be made to the Cayce Public Safety Foundation. Checks should be mailed to PO BOX 5422 Cayce, SC 29171 or dropped off at the Cayce Public Safety Complex. Every $100 donated means another City of Cayce child can Shop with a Cop!
Cayce is not the only department that participates. To help in other areas, Google your town or cities Police Department and Shop With A COP.
