Capital City Lake Murray Country says Christmas Light Boat Parade is returning

Irmo, SC (Paul Kirby) – Capital City Lake Murray Country, the regional tourism district for all the areas around Lake Murray, is reviving a holiday tradition that’s been on hiatus for a bit. According to Jayne Baker with CCLMC, “This holiday fun from years past returns to Lake Murray this December!”

The 2019 Christmas Light Boat Parade is planned for next Saturday, December 7th on The Jewel of South Carolina, Lake Murray. The boat parade will be viewable from the Lexington Park Site at the Lake Murray Dam. This is a family fun event featuring Christmas carols with B106 FM and a fireworks finale! Organizers suggest you pack a picnic and bring the entire family out to view the boats adorned with Christmas lights.Worried about it being cold, bring a blanket and wrap up with your sweetheart as the boats parade by!

The park site will open at 4:30 p.m. Get there early because parking inside the recreation site is available until capacity is met. It is first come, first served. For more information, contact Vickie at (803) 781-5940 ext. 6 or email vickie@lakemurraycountry.com. She can even tell you how to enter your boat. There will be a viewers’ choice award with a CASH PRIZE of $2500. Wouldn’t that make for a Merry Christmas! A rain date of December 8th, 2019 has been set if it’s needed.
