Lexington fugitive turns himself in

Lexington, SC – Lexington Police Chief Terrence Green said Monday that the fugitive Calvin Marquies Simpson, age 38 of Winnsboro, turned himself in to detectives on this date for two outstanding warrants for Assault & Battery – Third Degree.

At approximately 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2019, officers were dispatched to the Victorian Lakes MHC, located at 4801 Sunset Blvd. in Lexington, for an assault that had just occurred which Calvin Simpson was involved in. During the course of the investigation, officers spoke with a female victim who had been struck multiple times in the head and face and she told officers that she had been assaulted by Calvin Simpson. Officers observed blood on the victim’s face and shirt and she had multiple lacerations including a cut to her lip. Officers also observed bruising on the victim’s face from a previous assault incident involving Calvin Simpson that had occurred on Tuesday, December 3, 2019. The victim was transported from the scene to the hospital by ambulance.

Calvin Simpson is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center and during a hearing this afternoon, he was given a surety bond of $2,175 with the restrictions of not having any contact with the victim or to be in possession of a firearm.
