Man booked for murder after Red Bank shooting

Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) - Brandon Lee Corder, 29, has been booked into the Lexington County Detention Center on charges of murder after a shooting that left one dead in Red Bank Friday. According to family members and close fiends of the victim, he shot and killed a woman in a domestic situation off Valley Road near Cross and Platt Springs Roads.

Lexington County Sheriff's Department investigators were on the scene gathering evidence and the facts after the shooting late into the evening. Deputy coroners were also there in regard to their portion of the investigation. In a very short time, deputies had detained Corder for questioning in the shooting.

First responders and personnel from Lexington County's EMS responded to the gunshot while it was still daylight Friday afternoon. When they arrived, the young woman had already passed. Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher will officially release her name after all notifications have been made. It is expected that an autopsy will be performed sometime over the next few days.
