Chapin police hoping someone can help them close a case before the new year

Chapin, SC (Paul Kirby) – Chapin police officers are trying to close a case that happened late in 2019 regarding a robbery. Under the leadership of Chief Seth Zeigler, the department has a great record of closing cases and this is just another they’d like to make an arrest in and put to bed before the year is gone.

In the first few days of December, a man went into the Circle K at Chapin Road and Amicks Ferry Road. He held up the store before fleeing the scene. Chapin police officers arrived quickly, but he was already gone. Since then, they’ve had very few leads in the case.

The department has great footage of the suspect and it’s been shared on social media multiple times. All they need is that one person who recognizes the thief and makes a tip. At this point, people need to think broadly. This man may not be from Chapin, Little Mountain, or even a county that’s surrounds Chapin. He may be from another part of the state; who knows? He may have even taken steps to change his appearance in some way. Look very closely and share his photo with all your friends.

If you have any information, a hunch, have heard some talk, or think you may recognize him in some way, they want you to call. The officer in charge is First Sergeant Frick. He can be reached at 803-575-8049. Make the call and help them go into 2020 with this case closed.
