Columbia, S.C. – The tenth annual River Rocks Music Festival to benefit the rivers that both Lexington and Richland Counties enjoy, will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at the newly redesigned Central Energy building in the Bullstreet District, just a few steps from the Smith Branch stream restoration project.
Multi-instrumental sister duo, Rising Appalachia, will headline the 2020 River Rocks Music Festival. Their unique sound fuses musicality, storytelling, and environmental activism with their lived experiences in the Southern United States and abroad. Also playing will be The Fritz, Little Bird, and Blocker.
“We’re so excited to be celebrating ten years of the River Rocks Festival, and this year’s music lineup and new venue should make it a truly special event,” said Bill Stangler, Congaree Riverkeeper.
In addition to the music, there will be local food trucks and craft beer from SweetWater Brewing Company. For the kids, there will be live demonstrations from the Center for Birds of Prey, rock climbing, a bounce house, face painting, and balloon-art.
Protecting and improving our rivers is one of the goals of River Rocks and the host, Congaree Riverkeeper. Festival goers will have the opportunity to learn about river conservation through fun and hands-on educational activities. “River Rocks is a celebration of our local waterways, but more importantly than that, it’s an easy and fun way for people to support Congaree Riverkeeper’s work fighting for clean water and healthy rivers,” said Stangler.
River Rocks will be on Saturday, April 18th from noon to 8pm. Tickets are $12 in advance and will be available online at riverrocksfestival.com and at several local businesses. Find out more information about the festival by visiting riverrocksfestival.com.
