West Columbia, SC - Lexington Two has a longstanding tradition of community service, and now it will become the first Lexington County public school district to have all of its schools as food collection points for the annual Souper Bowl of Caring.
The Souper Bowl of Caring, started in 1990 in Columbia, is today a nationwide campaign to raise awareness about hunger. It is held in conjunction with the NFL Super Bowl game.
Each Lexington Two school will collect nonperishable food items for local food banks to help restock shelves that were depleted over the holidays because of high demand. Lexington Two's campaign runs Thursday, January 16 through Friday, January 31.
Food donations may be dropped off in designated boxes at any of our Lexington Two schools or the district office. Area residents, businesses and organizations are encouraged to drop off food donations as well.
Lexington Two joins neighboring Richland One in the district-wide collection effort.
