Lexington police officers looking for tips on car thief

Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) - The Lexington Police Department is turning to the social media community for help finding a person who stole a car. The man brazenly took the vehicle from the parking lot of Lexington County’s Administration Building at 212 South Lake Drive. This happened on January 5, 2020.

The vehicle stolen was a blue 2014 Honda Civic. It had a South Carolina license plate of QMG 458. A man that is either bald or has very close-cropped hair is their lead suspect. They’d at least like to talk to him and see what he has to say.

He was caught on surveillance video. He was wearing a dark hoodie at the time, and his pants appear to be spattered with white stains like paint or drywall mud. He was walking when the cameras caught his picture, but he must have gotten tired of that.

The only bad tip is one that’s not given. They’d rather check out some tips that turn out to go nowhere than not hear from you at all. If you think you may have met or know this guy, call it in. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Detective Payton at (803) 358-7271.
