Junior Miss South Carolina teams with Springdale PD to be the change

Springdale. SC (Paul Kirby) - Junior Miss South Carolina Sarah-Katherine is partnering with the Springdale Police Department to make a difference in the lives of people she may not even know. She takes her title, and the responsibility that comes with it, very seriously. When she saw what a tornado did to a SC high school recently, she knew she could be the spark that may ignite the fire of change for those students and teachers at North Central High School.

As a title holder and a queen, she must have a platform. Hers is like one many people have often been attributed with saying. It is known that one of the Love Project’s founders, the Reverend Ernest Troutner often says, “Be the change you want to see happen, instead of trying to change everyone else.” Sarah-Katherine has taken that to heart with her #bethedifference project.

Currently, her efforts are going toward helping North Central High School recover from the storm. Insurance will rebuild the building, but so many of the little essentials were lost that few even think about. Now, you can join Sarah-Katherine and the Springdale Police by collecting school supplies for North Central. Your donated items need to be dropped off by January 27th at the Springdale Police Department.

Items Needed Include: Hole Punchers, 3-Ring Binders, Air Fresheners, Chalk, Clorox Wipes, Crayons, Dry Erase Markers, Expo Markers, File Folders, Glue Sticks, Hand Sanitizers, Highlighters, Letter Size Envelopes, Manila Envelopes, Paperand Pencils, Pencil Sharpeners, Colored Pens, Post-It Notes, Power Strips/Surge Protectors, Scissors, Sharpies, Sheet Protectors, Spiral Notebooks, Staplers, Staples, Tape, Tape Dispensers and Tissues.

The Springdale Police Department is located at 2915 Platt Springs Road, West Columbia, South Carolina, 29170. See if you have it in your heart to help.
