Lexington County, SC— Local business owner and retired SC Air National Guard Msgt Brian Duncan announced Friday that he plans to seek the Republican nomination in the upcoming primary this June for SC House of Representatives District 88.

Representative Mac Toole, who currently represents District 88, announced Wednesday that he will not seek re-election this year. Duncan says, “I am truly blessed to be able to call Mac Toole a friend and someone I admire,” and that he also believes, “It is crucial that his successor carries on his legacy of tireless service to our community. That is why I have decided to run.”

Duncan has a record of service to South Carolina and this community that he has called home his entire life. Duncan served in the South Carolina Air National Guard for 20 years prior to retiring as a Master Sergeant. He is also the owner of Security Pro, which is a residential and commercial security firm based in District 88. He also serves as a Commissioner on the Lexington County Recreation and Aging Commission which he was appointed to by Governor Sanford. He and his wife Shannon live with their two children in Redbank.

In the coming weeks, Duncan plans to release his Action Plan for District 88. His campaign says they are well funded and prepared to best serve the citizens of this

district.

When asked what was most important to him about this decision, Duncan stated, “I think that this is all about the future. After much thought and prayer, I am ready to dedicate my service to the people that call our community home.”
