Gaston, SC (Paul Kirby) – Firefighters and medical personnel were dispatched to a residential structure fire in the 200 block of Casa Del Road late last week. Casa Del Road runs between Fish Hatchery Road and Woodtrail Drive just north of Gaston.
When the first units arrived from the fire service, they found heavy smoke and flames coming out of one of the dormer windows of the home. Fire crews immediately began fighting the fire. Trucks coming in behind them established a water supply to sustain the fire flow.
A spokesman for Lexington County said no injuries were reported as a result of the fire. Two residents were displaced, but they were being assisted by the American Red Cross.
The fire service estimated that $55,000 in damage was done by the fire. An investigation to determine the cause of the fire is underway.
