Lexington County man arrested after tip from Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force

Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) - Fred Rufus Kerr, Jr., 54, was arrested last week after the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force tipped authorities about his illegal activities that involved sex crimes against children. Kerr was charged with five counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and 10 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

The CyberTipline from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children notified local authorities what Kerr was doing. That led them to Kerr in Lexington County. Law enforcement officials say he possessed files of child pornography and was sharing and distributing them over the internet.

Kerr was arrested with the help of the Lexington County Sheriff’s Office deputies. Investigators with the SC Attorney General’s Office assisted with this investigation and will prosecute the case.
