Pelion High School Softball Team holding Spirit Night to raise money for tournament trip to Orlando

Pelion, SC (Paul Kirby) – The Pelion High School Softball team is “teaming up” with a local Mexican grill and cantina to raise money for an upcoming tournament in Orlando, Florida. On Thursday, January 30, 2020 (tonight), you can fill your stomach with great Hispanic food and your heart with a good feeling knowing that you’ve helped a worthy cause at the same time.

The team is scheduled to play in a tournament during Spring Break. It will be held at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World in Orlando. This kind of travel isn’t cheap and isn’t covered by the school district. The team must get together and raise the money themselves. This type of fundraising is a part of their learning. It helps foster teamwork as the players work to achieve a common goal.

Tonight, thanks to Don Pepe’s Mexican Grill & Cantina near Pelion, the team will be able to add to their travel fund. All you have to do is go, eat, drink, enjoy, and leave a good tip! For everyone who eats at Don Pepe’s on behalf of the team tonight, money will go toward the Orlando expenses. You’ll enjoy great food and that wonderful feeling that you helped some great students working for a good cause.

Don Pepe’s has great Mexican food and drinks. There’s also a pool room, jukebox, and other group games. It’s located at 7568 Edmund Hwy near Pelion. Come tonight (02/30/20), loosen your belt, and enjoy a big meal for a great cause!
