Swansea police officers arrest man for theft and drugs

Swansea, SC (Paul Kirby) – Swansea police officers have arrested Richard Glover after finding him in possession of a moped with its VIN number (vehicle identification number) scratched off. Glover also had a pocket full of methamphetamine when first contact was made with police.

During a search of his property, officers located a bag which contained several items of jewelry and watches which he claims someone else stole and gave him. Police ask that if any citizen is missing some lady’s bracelets or men's watches, they contact the Swansea Police Department at (803) 568-3366. Citizens must be able to accurately describe the items they are missing. Hopefully, this will help return the property to its rightful owner and strengthen the police’s case as well.

Police Chief Cliff Hayes has stated before that both stealing and the drugs are not welcome in Swansea. If you have information on any crimes that have occurred in the town, call the Swansea Police Department at the number listed above or CRIME STOPPERS at 1-888-CRIME SC.
