Swansea, SC (Paul Kirby) – Investigators with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department are looking into the circumstances surrounding a reported shooting near Swansea Sunday morning. The incident occurred after 6:00 a.m. on Sharon Church Road. It sent one man to the hospital with what was being called a non-life-threatening injury to an upper extremity.
The public information officer with the sheriff’s department has not released any information at this time regarding the incident. It does appear that the victim and others knew the suspect who fled on foot before the first deputy arrived on scene. It also appears as if this was not a random act and the general public has no reason to be alarmed because of the incident.
