South Congaree, SC (Paul Kirby) – Bar W Rodeo Production, in cooperation with the American Bull Riders Tour, is bringing a Bull Bash to South Congaree in March. This will be an all bull riding rodeo event.
This promotor is the same one that returned the South Congaree Championship Rodeo to the area several years ago. That rodeo, held at the end of July each year, is a full International Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association (IPRCA) rodeo that brings championship riders from all over the US and Canada to Lexington County. The cowboys and the animals compete for points that can propel them to the national finals in Oklahoma City at the end of each season.
The Bull Bash will be just as much excitement as the full rodeo if not more! This all bull riding event that will feature some of the best bucking stock anywhere. The Ken Treadway Company out of Laurens, SC is known to have some of the winningest bulls in the sport, and the world. You’ll also see some of the worst wrecks as cowboys hang on for dear life and try to finish their ride with style.
Ken Treadway and his company have been producing rodeos for over 30 years. He has some of the best rodeo stock in the business. Currently, he owns the World Champion Bareback Horse Nite light, World Champion Saddle Bronc HorseDesperado, and World Champion Bareback Bronc War Horse. At this show, those guys will have the night off. This is a just bulls only bash!
Treadway has said he will show the crowd a great time by bringing some of the rankest bull riding stock there is. You’ll see cowboys try to sit the likes of World Championship Bull Texas Black Twister and Two Time World Champion Fast ‘N Furious for a very long eight seconds to win prizes money and points. Not only the bulls are some of the best in the world, but the cowboys are too! If anyone can sit these bulls until the horn blows, you’ll have to be one of the best cowboys right here in South Congaree in March.
The events will be held at the South Congaree Equestrian Arena at 395 Oak Street in South Congaree across the street from the fire station. Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. and the event begins at 6:30 p.m. Parking is absolutely free.
Besides the bull riding, there will be a mechanical bull there for novice or pro riders to try, food and drink vendors, souvenir vendors, and lots more things to do. Of course, there’s nothing like the excitement of the main event where thousands of pounds of wild and wooly bulls try their best to toss a cowboy as high in the sky as possible!
