Cayce, SC (Paul Kirby) – Last Saturday, State of the Art Gallery and Pottery Studio held their grand opening. This new gallery is located at 2007 State Street in Cayce. They promised, “A great opportunity to see phenomenal artists' work at this group show,”and at others times in the future. Of course you did’t have to be at the show to see the beautiful things inside, you can just walk in, ask questions, and enjoy.
Besides the art for show and sale, State of the Art is an amazing new gift shop in the heart of the City of Cayce. Just last week, they received a bundle of their popular soaps along with some anywhere ointment, lip balm, aromatherapy oil and other favorites. According to Mayor Elise Partin, “We’re excited to be in this lovely venue, back in the great little city where PURE got its start.”
According to their social media page, Sate of the Art was started between friends and SC natives Valery Taylor Smith and Levi Wright. State of the Art Gallery and Pottery Studio houses art made by all South Carolina-based artists in a gallery which is Valery’s area of expertise, as well as a pottery studio that’s an area where Levi excels.
State of the Art is all about local art. It is part gallery, part artisanal shop, part pottery studio; State of the Art focuses on connecting community with art. At State of the Art, they believe that art is something to be shared, something that should be accessible for everyone. Valery and Levi’s philosophy
Is that art is meant to provide connections between stories and experiences. It should make people feel. That is something that can and should be offered to all, and State of the Art offers that opportunity.
State of the Art is a place that proudly displays creative works from South Carolina artists in a way that is casual, friendly, and relatable, as well as providing classes and a studio space. This is the common-man's art gallery and studio; Art for all.
