Batesburg-Leesville, SC (Paul Kirby) – The Town of Batesburg-Leesville is recruiting any group or individual interested in volunteering for the Great American Cleanup Day. This is scheduled for April 18th, 2020.
According to their website at www.kab.org/programs/great-american-cleanup, the Keep America Beautiful Great American Cleanup is the nation’s largest community improvement program. It takes place annually during spring in an estimated 15,000 communities nationwide.
The Great American Cleanup, which marks its 22nd year in 2020, engaged more than 550,000 volunteers and participants in 2019 to create a positive and lasting impact. At Keep America Beautiful, they work to inspire people to take action every day to improve and beautify their community environment through programs like the Great American Cleanup.
If you are interested in helping out with Batesburg-Leesville’s Great American Cleanup, reach out to them on Facebook or email Assistant Town Manager Jay Hendrix at jhendrix@batesburg-leesville.org.
Batesburg-Leesville’s plans are to work on a few service projects around town. These include working around the American Legion Post, the town’s parks, as well as highway cleanups. The organizer’s goal is to collect one ton of litter in one day.
