Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) – Lexington police officers are on the scene of a barricaded person at the Hickory Hill Mobile Home Park on Industrial Drive just off South Lake Drive in Lexington. Police negotiators are on scene and attempting to speak to the subject.
Police have not released any information about why they originally responded to the park. That MHP was the scene of a shooting in 2019 and suspects were just taken into custody several weeks ago after that investigation.
Police say that access to the area is restricted. Lexington School District One busses are rerouting accordingly. Anyone that is in the park or within the area the police have cordoned off are asked to shelter in place until further notice. If you live in that area, you will not be allowed to enter the park or its surrounding area. You must say outside of the police's perimeter.
