Get an Early Start on Spring Cleaning and You Could Win a Smart Home Prize Pack

Cayce, SC - As you begin to look around your home in preparation for spring cleaning, consider recycling older refrigerators and freezers. Residential electric service customers of Dominion Energy South Carolina can win one of five Smart Home Prize Packs when scheduling a free pickup to recycle old, secondary refrigerators or freezers through the company’s Appliance Recycling Program in March and April.

“This program is a great opportunity for customers who are looking to replace aging appliances,” said Gerald Freeman, program manager. “Replacing older appliances with newer, more energy efficient appliances is a great way for customers to reduce their energy usage and potentially lower their energy bill as a result. The chance to win a Smart Home Prize Pack is a bonus for customers.”

The Smart Home Prize Packs include:

  • Smart thermostat

  • Smart home speaker with smart plug

  • Smart home lighting kit

Residential electric customers who call 877-510-7234 or visit DominionEnergySC.com/Smart to schedule free pickup to take place between March 1 and April 30 will automatically be entered to win a prize pack. Additionally, all customers who recycle an eligible appliance will receive $50 cash back per unit for up to two eligible appliances and could save over $100 annually on their energy bill. An eligible unit must be full sized and in working condition.

Along with participating in Dominion Energy South Carolina’s Appliance Recycling Program, residential electric customers also can take advantage of extra savings on select specialty LED lighting through March 31 while using the “SAVE30” promo code at DominionEnergySC.com/Save30. Free shipping on any combination of 15-bulb orders is available year-round.

“It’s always a good time to purchase bulbs and other items that can help you decrease the amount of energy you use,” Freeman said. “Spring is an especially good time to not only clean house, but also to improve the efficiency of your home and potentially save money on your energy bill.”
