Cayce Department of Public Safety gets “flocked” for a good cause

Cayce, SC (Paul Kirby) – The Cayce Department of Public Safety recently got “flocked” by someone with a good sense of humor and a great heart! The men and women of the department came to work recently to find their lawn covered in pink flamingos!

Each year, the student body of Airport High School raises tens of thousands of dollars that is then donated to Camp Kemo. Camp Kemo is a recreational summer camp that affords critically ill children an opportunity to attend summer camp. The camp’s staff are expertly trained medical caregivers. In order to get this money, students come up with some strange but fun ways to raise the cash.

If you’re in the mood to give, you can have a yard “flocked” too. For a fee that goes toward the camp, students will go to The designated yard and “flock” it with pink flamingos! When the person or place that was flocked sees their lawn after daybreak, they can’t help but chuckle!

Cayce officers aren’t investigating who “flocked” them, they are too busy trying to decide who they will “flock”! The West Columbia Police Department, the Town of Springdale’s Police Department, or the mayor’s yard might all be great targets for flamingos.

Please remember that the fundraiser will end soon. If you’d like to have a yard “flocked,” or join in this fun through some other philanthropy, contact Airport High School at (803) 822-5600.
