One shot, one man arrested after gun fired into home after disagreement

South Congaree, SC (Paul Kirby) – Lexington County sheriff’s deputies have arrested 23 year-old Michael Erickson early Tuesday morning. He is being charged with three counts of attempted murder, unlawful carrying of a pistol and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

According to investigators, Erickson was involved in an incident that took place at a residence in the South Congaree area of West Columbia Monday evening. Erickson was driving a vehicle with several passengers in it that visited this location sometime near 6:00 p.m. At some point, an altercation between one of his passengers and an individual at this residence began. One of Erickson’s party was shot according to his family. Erickson began to leave the scene but shot multiple rounds at the residence prior to fleeing.

One of the men who was with Erickson and is being described as his brother by family members, was shot. He was transported to a local hospital where according to the family, he is being treated in ICU for a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

The sheriff’s department says that their investigation into the incident is ongoing.
