Swansea Police arrest man with stolen U-Haul after short vehicle pursuit

Swansea, SC (Diana Nation) - On Saturday, March 7, 2020, following a short vehicle and foot pursuit, Swansea Police took Ronnie Dexter Grady into custody.

Grady was driving a U-Haul box truck that was confirmed to be stolen out of Greenwood County. He was apprehended after a short foot pursuit when he attempted to flee near the intersection of Alpine Road and Lee Witt Road.

With assistance from the Gaston Police Department, an inventory was performed on the stolen U-Haul. At this time, officers discovered methamphetamine located inside the vehicle as well as several burglary tools. Items believed to have been stolen were in the cargo area of the truck.

Grady was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center where is currently being held on a $38,420 bond.
