Gaston, SC (Paul Kirby) - Lexington County EMS and fire personnel were on the scene of a fatal collision on Woodtrail Road near Eagle Ridge Thursday. Woodtrail is a winding, hilly road that runs from Hwy. 321 south to Meadowfield Road just north of the town of Gaston. The collision occurred about 10:45 a.m.
There was at least one more patient on scene being treated by EMS. There is no further information available at this time.
Fatal collisions often cause the road to be closed for a long period of time. It is suggested that you take a detour around that area for most of Thursday, March 19, 2020. If you do have to travel that road, use extreme caution and be prepared to stop.
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher will investigate the death and make full notifications before releasing any information regarding the decedent. The SCHP MAIT team usually investigates fatal collisions.
