Lexington, SC - Mission Lexington announces overall race winners for Lexington’s Race Against Hunger held on Saturday, March 14th, 2020 at Lexington High School in Lexington, SC.

  • 5K Male Overall Winner: Steven Ellisor

  • 5K Female Overall Winner: Kendra Miles

  • 10K Male Overall Winner: Zander Jeffcoat

  • 10K Female Overall Winner: Angie Blight

“What an amazing event we had this year,” said Robin W. Bowers, Executive Director of Mission Lexington. “The sense of comradery and competition in our community was abundant amongst all of the talented participants.”

With more than 440 registered participants, LRAH was able to raise more than $25,000, benefitting Mission Lexington’s food pantry.

“This event is our biggest single fundraiser, and we are ecstatic at the amount of funds that have been raised thanks to the runners and especially our incredible sponsors!” said Bowers. “We’re already looking forward to next year’s race!”

We’d also like to congratulate Zander Jeffcoat of Gilbert, SC for breaking the South Carolina State Record for the 10K Men’s age group 16-17 year-olds, finishing the race in 32 minutes and 17 seconds. Please see picture attached of Jeffcoat's photo finish.

“Each year this race grows. We truly have something for everybody – there are lots of age-group winners for the recreational runners, we offer a lot of fun on the course, but we also have a super-fast course where competitive racers can chase PR’s,” said Nate Gibson, LRAH Chair. “Regardless of the reason folks ran – they can be assured they made a difference in our community by helping provide necessities to people in need.”

A full list of award results can be found at lrah.org. All funds raised at this event directly benefit Mission Lexington’s food pantry.
