Gaston, SC (Paul Kirby) – Lexington County firefighters responded to a mobile home fire in the 100 block of Sandy Oak Lane Tuesday near the town of Gaston. The call was dispatched around 12:45 p.m. and firefighters, EMS personnel, and deputies responded from across the south region of the county.

When firefighters arrived, they had smoke and flames showing from a single-wide mobile home. The first crew suited up, pulled an attack line, entered the home, and knocked most of the fire down. The crew then came outside and applied water to fire that was underneath the home. It was quickly extinguished. From time of dispatch to the time the battalion chief marked the fire under control was less than 30 minutes.

Lexington County has not released any information regarding what started the fire, a damages assessment, or if the home was occupied. We will update this story if more information is received.
