Swansea, SC (Paul Kirby) - On Saturday, April 4th, Swansea police officers took Jason Spoone into custody after he failed to stop for blue lights and led a Swansea officer on a vehicle pursuit. Spoone was driving a Chevy Silverado that was confirmed to be stolen out of Lexington County.

The pursuit ended near Woodtrail and Bismarck Dr. after the Gaston Police Department assisted by using their spike strips which deflated the front driver’s side tire. Spoone then fled on foot into the wood line.

At this point, officers from the South Congaree PD, Springdale PD, and Lexington County assisted the Swansea and Gaston officers in setting a perimeter in the area. The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department deployed their K-9 unit and tracked into the woods where they located the suspect and placed him into custody.

On their social media page, the Swansea Police Department said, “We would like to give a special thank you to the assisting agencies and their amazing teamwork!”
