LRADAC hires new executive director of its foundation and talented communications director

Lexington, SC – LRADAC, the designated alcohol and drug abuse authority for Lexington and Richland Counties, announced this week that Kendra Mallett-Brunson was hired as the new executive director of the LRADAC Foundation. They also said that Robbie Robertson has been hired as LRADAC’s new communications director.

In her new role as executive director of the LRADAC Foundation, Mallet-Brunson brings nearly a decade of experience in strategic initiatives, program management and development to help guide the Foundation’s mission. That organization offers financial support for people seeking recovery and treatment of alcohol and drug misuse but who may not be able to afford it. Although she is new to the LRADAC Foundation, this is not Mallet-Brunson’s first time as part of the LRADAC team.

“LRADAC first gave me a chance as a client services specialist years ago. I was a mom of two and juggling my final year of school full-time,” said Mallet-Brunson. “A few years ago, LRADAC was also there for my family and helped lead one of my closest loved ones to recovery. My return is a testament of God’s grace and circulation of gifts in my life. I am honored to be back and serve such an organization with a mission and team that is unmatched.”

After leaving LRADAC in 2013, Mallett-Brunson received her Bachelors of Arts in Communication from Columbia College. She then served as the strategic partnerships manager for SC Thrive, senior development officer at Winthrop University and as director of development for Palmetto Place Children and Youth Services. Mallett-Brunson is a wife and mother of three and credits her “village,” faith and commitment to serving vulnerable populations as her greatest treasures.

As the new communication director for LRADAC, Robbie Robertson brings a wealth of experience in marketing, public relations and broadcast production to this role. As an independent contractor, Robertson has worked as a copywriter, creative director and producer for such companies as Mad Monkey, The Protocol School of Washington, the Sarah Cannon Cancer Network and Gensler. He has also worked at major universities, government agencies and electric utilities throughout the southeast. Robertson is also an accomplished playwright and screenwriter and his work has screened at major festivals throughout the US.

“I’m very proud to work for a dynamic organization whose work impacts not just individuals but families and communities as well,” said Robertson. “LRADAC is one of the most important not-for-profits in South Carolina and I look forward to expanding awareness of the very important work they do to transform and enrich the lives of the people and communities they serve.”
