Chapin Police turning to the public for assistance identifying a suspect

Chapin, SC (Paul Kirby) – The Chapin Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect caught on camera. He attempted to unlawfully enter a residence in the Fairhaven Subdivision on Sunday, May 3, 2020. This all happened between 1 a.m.- 2:30 a.m.

Please look at the picture closely. Although the photo was taken by an infrared system, he is still easy to see. Perhaps you work at the store where he bought the small cigar, recognize his tattoos, or have seen him walking or riding with someone in the area.

If you can identify the suspect, please call Officer Gainous at 803-223-5597. You can also make tips through CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-888-CRIMESC. They also have a website with a SUBMIT A TIP tab at www.midlandscrimestoppers.com.
