Lexington Police Department K-9 and handler help make drug bust last Friday

Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) - Early last Friday morning, Lexington PD K-9 Nufo and his handler PFC. Kerwin, joined the officers of Delta Shift and LPD's Patrol Division to get illegal narcotics off the street. The team found a stash of over 100 grams of methamphetamine along with some marijuana while they were working an investigation into a stolen license plate.

After their investigation was complete, officers charged the subject with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Simple Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Stolen Property. That individual was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center.

K-9s are an integral tool in the war on drugs and crime. The Lexington officers are exceptionally proud of K-9 Nufo and PFC Kerwin as well as all the officers of the department for the great work they do.
