Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) - Officers of the Lexington Police Department’s Patrol Division, C Shift, were investigating two parked vehicles outside a business Tuesday morning. At 3:30 a.m., vehicles would not normally be there. This is a common occurrence for officers if something seems out of place.

Their investigation resulted in the seizure of a weapon, drugs, and money. A 15-year old juvenile was also located and returned to her mother’s custody. Two subjects were arrested.

One of the suspects was charged with Unlawful Carry of a Handgun and Simple Possession of Marijuana. The other faces a charge of Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana. Both were booked into the Lexington County Detention Center.

Officers on the overnight shift routinely patrol the town and check businesses and homes. If they see something out of the norm, they check it out to ensure nothing illegal is happening. This is a method of reducing crime. It helps stops suspects before crimes occur. They often catch people during the commission of criminal activity too. Thanks to the hard work of these officers, more drugs and a weapon have been taken off the street.
